Meet the Mods!
Kam- Head ModAs head mod, some of my main responsibilities will be acting as the finances, production, and shipping mod as well as co-leading the overall process from start to end. I was in charge of these areas as head mod of the zine 'Three Of A Kind' so I have lots of experience. My job also deals with project design and management so I also have experience in some of these areas in a more professional setting.
Finn- Head Mod
As head mod my responsibilities will include social media and project management. While this is my first time being a mod, I do have experience as an artist contributor for multiple zines in the past, including 'Style on the Rise' and the 'Night At The Museum' fanzine (to name a few). I've also been lead character designer and director for many animated projects!
Victoria- Graphic Design Mod
As graphic design mod my responsibilities are creating social media graphics, the fanzine layout and preparing the print files. After having contributed to several fanzines (‘Bill and Ted: Party On, Dudes!‘ and ‘The Terror: Love in the Times of Scurvy‘) as an artist, I have modded two zines (‘Night At The Museum‘ and ‘Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell‘). There my main tasks were running the socials, handling all design work, as well as finances and production.

What is From the Edge of Hope?From the Edge of Hope is a SFW nonprofit fanzine that focuses on celebrating the Pacific Rim films and their upcoming anniversary.Is the zine just for the first Pacific Rim film? Will other Pacific Rim based content be allowed?Based on the results from the interest check, we decided it would be best to focus on just the first Pacific Rim film for this project.What characters are allowed to be included in the zine?Any characters, jaegars, or kaiju can be included as long as they are from the two films! Have fun with it!Is the zine Nonprofit?Yes! All proceeds from the zine will go towards charity. Based on the interest check results, we've decided to donate to the Marine Conservation Institute.Will there be a physical zine + merch bundle released?Yes! The zine will be printed and physical merch will be produced. Bundle information coming soon!Will there be international shipping?
Yes!Willing shipping content be allowed?
This is actually one of the reasons we're asking what everyone thinks about canon vs mostly canon! So far it seems like we'll have some non-canon flexibility, which means non-canon ships will be a-ok! Since we do want to make sure the zine is mostly canon, we may have to set some limits if we notice there's an overwhelming amount of people wanting to create for one ship. In the worst case scenario that we do have to set up limits, wanting to draw shipping content won’t hurt your chances of being accepted. We’ll probably just reach out and see if you’re okay drawing something else!
